A magic carpet ride at the
park for a short period during the early noughties. The ride was situated
where Wizzy Dizzy now resides.

Astroglide
Before
the Cannonball Express made its debut at the park, a far
more leisurely and relaxing attraction occupied this space. The giant
slides required a fair bit of energy to enjoy as a hike up a hill was the
only way to take a slide!
Anon Said: "I used to
love chasing up the hill time and time again when I used to go to
Pleasurewood as a kid. I do miss it even if it was just a few slides!"
pleasurewood hills
Canyon Raft
A similar ride to the "Bone Shaker" which was
at Alton Towers for some years. Lasting just one season at Pleasurewood
Hills, the ride consisted of rows of seats which faced inwards, the body
of the ride was attached to two arms one of which moved upwards while the
other moved down. This resulted in a strange tilting motion and provided
little thrill.
David Said: "A weird ride
this!! Not really very thrilling at all. Quite entertaining though, but
one ride was enough!"
pleasurewood hills
Death
Slide
Dangling
over the top of the near vertical slide, brave visitors
would let themselves drop risking life, limb and the very real chance of a
nasty friction burn! Was situated opposite the shooting range next to the
area previously known as fort fun.
Anon Said:
"One of my all time favorites!! I was upset when this suddenly
dissappeared :(
Sacha Kite
Said: "Bring it back, because it is cool and it is indoors so u
will be able to go on it when it rains so u will have more customers
yeah yeah woop woop!"
pleasurewood hills
Enterprise
/ Phoenix
A fast spinning ride, common
in lots of theme parks. Riders are locked into a 2-person cage and spun
round then lifted to spin upside down before returning to the ground. No
restraints on this one, just the magical power of centrifugal force.
Nick Said: i would bring
it back because pwh make out that thunderstruck is a thrill ride but it is not it just a carnival ride but enterprise is and it is brill so please
bring it back or at lest one of the thrill rides.
Sarah Said: "Enterprise needs to come
back. Replace Thunderstruck, or at least oil it or something?"
Josh Said: "No park is complete without
an Enterprise ride! Time to bring it back and replace the incredibly dull
(and terrifyingly creaky) Thunderstruck!"
pleasurewood hills
Eye in the Sky
A tall viewing tower... It's
chosen spot in the park? Right next to the storage area! If your idea of
fun is a birds eye view of random ride cars, and big bits of metal and
wood you'd be hard pushed to find a better opportunity anywhere else in
the UK! Interestingly, this ride didn't stay at the park for long.
Anon Said:
"So peaceful! I used to love this ride!"
pleasurewood hills
Magic
Mouse
A very popular ride during
its time at the park, and quite a shock for most to see it leave. Part
rollercoaster, part waltzer.
As you made your way round the twists, turns
and hills, the ride car spun to add an extra level of excitement. Occupied
the position where Wipeout currently stands.
Georgie Said: "I want
the magic mouse back because i was only 6 when they took it away and when
i was taller enough i ran in as fast as i could to get on but then i
noticed it disappeared i was crying and made a giant puddle on the floor
so i really want it back i will do anything for it now i think the park
isn't fun anymore and they placed it with that wipe out ride so can you
please put it back next to the wipe out ride because there is plenty of
room there"
Anon Said: "i think
pleasurewood hills should have most of these rides back there is still
loads of land around the entrence and could fit 5 of these rides so bring
some back and use up the land then pwh will get loads more visiters than
it already has woop woop pwh would be welll better i want magic mouse back
! x"
Anon Said: "After 30
minutes in Pleasurewood hills I've already done every ride twice, needs a
new rollercoaster as enigma and snake in the grass are boring as."
Jack Said: "i was just
tall enough when you noced it down and i never ever got a chance to ride
it."
Relly Said: i remember
when that first opened, it was a real crowd puller. it was a wicked ride
coz i always used to think i was go off the edge of the track. bring it
back... it was amazing!
Anon Said: "Get rid of that boring
Thunderstruck and bring back Magic Mouse. Also bring in a lot more
exciting rides - you get bored after 20 minutes of being in the park."
Lorrie Said: "They should bring back
magic mouse!"
Martyn Said: "I wasn't really that
disappointed to see the MM leave, whilst it was unique when it first
opened, they just became way too common, and quite boring after a couple
of goes. Wipeout is a much better replacement."
Anon Said: "What a stupid decision to get rid of this, people went to the
park as this was a cool coaster unlike the rubbish that they currently
have!"
Anon Said: "The removal of this is a
complete disaster! A signature ride for the park, and one that should not
have been removed?! A real crowd puller and exciting ride!"

Mega
Dance
Do
you remember this vomit inducing thrill ride? It was situated next
to the Log Flume where Wizzy Dizzy now stands.
You remember, it was the one with
the big button on the seat sticking into your backside!
Donna Said: "i loved it.
i liked wind in my hair it was the only good drop there yeah yeah woop
woop"
Bob Said:"I really enjoyed this ride,
although it seemed dangerous with most of the cars roped up."

Mega
Drop
Occupying the position which is now
home to Thunderstruck, the Mega Drop tower was added to the park in 2002.
Riders were hoisted to the top, held there to add to the tension and then
dropped to the ground like a stone!
Anonymous Said: "It was
so good- why did they get rid of it and replace it with the **shudders**
Thunderstruck"
Murdock Said: "they need
to bring mega drop back, I think that pleasurewood hills need a new thrill
ride."
Julian Deans Said: "I have been to
Pleasurewood Hills every year since I was born, and to my suprise, on year
they had a Drop Tower ride, I loved it, there was no queue and it was a
thrilling as ever, and then they went and replaced it with a crappy
Tri-star ride, which isn't eveen thrilling even though it is classed as a
thrill ride, what was pleasurewood thinking?!?"
Martyn Said:
"Whilst I agree that this ride was brilliant,
the best thrill ride Pleasurewood has ever had infact, I'd rather see a
permanent drop tower installed, like a small Intamin one, or an S&S shot
tower. They have an ideal location for a tower ride as well, where them
horrible Waltzers used to be."
Paul Ellis Said: "The ride was BRILLIANT please bring it back,
it was the best ride there!"

Megaspin Rollover
One for the brave this!
Spinning fast and turning upside-down. A strong stomach was a must!
Julian Said:
"I loved this, bring it back, the area next to Wipeout needs
something!"
pleasurewood hills
Rotor
Present
at Pleasurewood Hills in the min 1980's, the Rotor used little more
than centrifugal force to hold riders in place.
The ride began by
spinning fast until riders 'stuck' to the walls at which point
the whole ride was raised by an arm to tilt on its side.

Sky
Screamer
Manufactured by ESL engineering, the ride
featured two "pirate ship" shaped cages which rotated
guests through 360 degrees... very slowly. Not the kind of ride to try out
after dinner! The ride moved around to a number of different positions
during its stay at the park.
Martyn Said: "The Sky
Screamer was death, and I'm so glad they eventually got rid of it. A
shadow of a ride the Tempest once was."
pleasurewood hills
Supertrooper
Possibly the most
unattractive of rides to have ever arrived at Pleasurewood. It sat
opposite the Veteran Cars where the Sky Hooks ride currently
resides. The process of loading and unloading was very slow as it
had to be done one chair at a time!

The
Tempest
One
of my personal favourites of the past. A huge pirate ship ride sending
riders all the way over the top and hanging them upside down with only a
padded lap bar to support them.
Occupying the position where the Dodgy Dodgems
currently stand, it was at the park from 1990 to 1995.
Andrew Said: "I
remember queuing in fear for this ride, watching peoples change fall
through the bars. The pillow seatbelt thing pushing into your
stomach. Really scary, but brill ride!"
Woody Said: "It
was such a scary ride, I remember when all peoples change used to
fall onto the metal when it went upside down."
Anon Said: "I know
so many people that came here every year mainlt for this ride
alone, why do pwh always get rid of all the best rides?"
Darren N Said:
"Classic thrill ride, rare in britain, attract crowds, would fit in
perfectly with the park"
John Ward Said: "It
was a fantastic ride which could - with the right publicity - bring
the park back to the heyday when Woody, Clarence and other
characters graced the park, the model fairground was working and the
Wild West Show was great!"
Becs Said:
"Stomach churningly brilliant - bring it back now!!"
Rick Said:
"Was one of the best rides ever at Pleasure Wood Hills, can't
believe they got rid of it"
Donna Said:
"WOW!!! blast from the past, this was the first upside down ride
i went on i loved it and STILL talk about it today when ever people
bring up pleasurewood hills... PLEASE bring it back would love to
take my kids on it!!!"
pleasurewood hills
Troika
Manufactured by HUSS, the Troika was a
spinning thrill ride which arrived at the park in 1985. The centre
of the ride rotated clockwise. Three arms protruded from the centre with 7
cars each seating 2 people. These cars rotated in an anti clockwise
direction. Once the spinning reached full speed, the hydraulically driven
arms lifted the cars to an angle of 40 degrees.
Alex Said: "This ride
was just pure fun. Probably the only thing I miss most about Pleasurewood
Hills back in the mid 90s."
pleasurewood hills
Voyager
The Voyager consisted
of two large inverting ships. The ride would have been a reasonable
addition to the park had it not have been for the Sky Screamers - an
almost identical ride - being present at the same time!
The Voyager was positioned
where Wizzy Dizzy currently stands and lasted only one season at the park
before moving to Pleasurewood's then sister park, Lightwater Valley.

Voyage to Aladdin's Cave
"New lamps for old". The
scary dragon. What's not to love! A boat ride with an undercover section. Now re-themed as Tales of the Coast.

Waltzers
Two Waltzers
have been in place at Pleasurewood Hills over the years. The first
was a traditionally painted model which was situated in the space
now occupied by the Le Mans Karts. The second replaced the
Cine180 tent and was painted in bright shades of pink.
Jessie and
Jasmine Said: "we luv the waltzers ride. we wanna go on it
again."

Waveswinger
Pleasurewood Hills currently
has a similar ride to this called "Sky Hooks".
However, this one from the mid 1990's was far more visually attractive.
Unlike the model currently at the park, this one was capable of rising in
the centre while spinning and tilting, great fun.
Cheyenne Said: "Well I
have never been or seen any of these rides, but the reason these rides
have gone is cause all the rides there and what have gone cause they all
expiry dates and then they replaced. If you look on the Wizzy Dizzy ride
operating thingy, it has a sticker with the ride name, some thing else,
and the expiry date something 2010. So there should be rides going, and
rides coming."
Tracey Said: "Why did it
disappear? This ride was fantastic i have never seen another one like
it. It was rather high, fast and tilted. This ride really needs to make
a comeback = it was NEVER and i mean NEVER empty!"
Sarah
Said: "The Waveswinger... Why
is it not there? Nobody I mention it to has ever ridden on or even
seen a Skyhook ride which tilts."
